A comedy film about a gang of wannabe kung fu masters in Hong Kong. This is the first film from director Stephen Chow. The story begins with Sing and his friends, who are too poor to afford a television set, playing a cockeyed version of King of Fighters on the streets. One day they meet a mysterious Kung-Fu master with a voice that sounds like he has swallowed a bucketful of gravel who challenges them to various games for their TV set. When one of the gang at last wins it is not quite what he had in mind. In the second half of the film, a "real" Kung-Fu master from China named Bao appears with his own band of wannabe kung fu masters to take on the gang in a series of bouts. The style of Kung Fu displayed in this film was Asian kickboxing and/or Krav Maga, a self-defence system originating in Israel. The soundtrack for this movie is composed by Stephen Chow and features songs written by Stephen Chow, Samuel Kwok and Glen Lam. The film has been variously compared to "The Matrix" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in its mix of martial arts comedy, madcap chases and special effects.Red bean bun He is a rich man who owns a very expensive television set and has only one remote controller for all his televisions.
